This position is an interesting one and continuing with Sony Ericsson's trend they are merging their phones with their best products in the market. Walkmans, exmor R Cameras, Bravia Display Engine and now Portal play Stations. The widely speculated phone that comes with PSP gaming is now somewhat of a reality. I can see how Sony Ericsson is cautious in making too big of a wave by introducing play only to android devices and porting some playstation 1 games. I wish they had ported more PSP games as I miss those days where I can play splinter cell on the PSP but I digress. Nevertheless, gaming apps still tops most any app store in terms of downloads, earning and sheer number. By introducing the play, it return gaming to it roots of using controllers.
So far the play has been impressive and those who value gaming on the go, this is far better than any mobile gaming device that comes with smart phone capabilities. Just slide.
I had a question that somewhat seemed unanswered. Mobile phones last between 6-12 months, would the extended controller be a waste or will it keep the user hooked for a few years? Or is the gaming industry so hooked on game controllers that, innovative touch based games will not grow or will they serve 2 different markets and still thrive. Only time will tell. At the mean time take a look at the hands on.
I am impressed by the Experia Arc. Sony Ericsson has finally learnt to exploit Sony's Display and Camera Technology. Sony Ericsson phone were once known for their Phone Camera. While others put a camera on a phone, they went ahead to put a phone into the Camera. Technology definitely advanced to a point where now you can fit all the bulk into a tiny phone. I really love the design of the Arc, it also feels much lighter and classier. Couple with the Android 2.3, It's a really sweet device. I just hope they redesign their interface. I love the panels and quick folders but timescape and mediascape needs to change.
Hands on and quick chat with HP on the Touch Smart and HP Pavillion DV. Looks like HP is not pulling the stops for these PCs. They have definitely come a long way. The interesting thing is that Multi-Touch is moving to the desktops and HP is showing us the way. While everyone is focusing on Tablets. HP takes the lead in Multi-Touch System for Desktops. Will we see and end to the mouse in future households?
Caught up with Yan to explore the inner workings of FlickEvents and their future. Interesting chat on what Events means to them and all of us.
It has been 3 years since we started this podcast and the we have grown in numbers and size. I would love to thank those who are still fans of ours. It was great to have you guys. This year we have also moved to livestream the podcast. We also have a new host @Farah_Sidek. She will be hosting the IT Channel and @Mikefoong would go into the backend production work.
